The Women’s Equality Center is a key collaborator in this project. We approached them for their expertise, and their support helps amplify the voices and stories that are part of this narrative.

The documentary features the voices of Paula Ávila Guillén, Rosita Romero, Amanda Séptimo, and Tary Hernández, who share their experiences, and draws on a wide range of archival material provided by global media and independent reporters. Sources such as AFP, Amnesty International, BBC, CNN, NPR, The New York Times, Univision, El País, Vice, and more contribute images, reports, and documentation that contextualize and enrich each scene. We also acknowledge the journalists and photographers who, through their lens and words, document the struggle of women in the Americas.

Additionally, we want to honor and recognize the victims whose stories are the heart of this project. Their lives, challenges, and resilience inspire us to continue bringing visibility to these struggles and to work towards a more just future.

The New York Film Academy contributes its artistic and technical expertise through the guidance of advisors such as Anne Alvergue, Arsenio Assin, Rob Burgos, Richard D’Angelo, Julie Deffet, Akil DuPont, Dorottya Mathe, Kristen Nutile, and Claudia Raschke, enhancing the narrative quality of the project.

Filmed in New York (2023) and La Calera, Colombia (2024), *Her Name is Libertad* is lovingly dedicated to Lila, Laura, and Beatriz.
