Her Name is Libertad is an intimate journey through the stories of women from the Americas who, facing cultural, social, and political challenges, move forward with determination on their path to freedom. From personal struggles to collective movements, each chapter of this documentary series celebrates the courage, diversity, and transformative impact of their actions, while simultaneously reflecting the universal human longing to decide, dream, and build a dignified future for all.
The first chapter of Her Name is Libertad brings us closer to Pan-American struggles through the experience of Paula Ávila Guillén. From her work as an activist, Paula weaves together stories and contexts to show how the quest for freedom transcends borders and connects women across the continent. What drives us to fight for freedom?
